Dashboard

The dashboard is your command center in TheCompanyApp, providing a real-time snapshot of your business operations.

Overview

When you open TheCompanyApp, the dashboard displays the most important information at a glance:

  • Pending tasks requiring immediate attention
  • Recent orders and inventory changes
  • Quick actions to common workflows
  • Team member activity (Business/Enterprise plans)

Quick Stats

At the top of the dashboard, you'll see summary metrics:

Total Pending Tasks

The combined count of orders and inventory items requiring action:

  • Orders awaiting approval
  • Orders ready to dispatch
  • Low stock alerts
  • Returns to process

Urgent Items

Flagged tasks that need immediate attention, marked with priority indicators.

Recent Activity

A timeline showing recent changes across orders, inventory, and dispatches.

Team Status (Business/Enterprise)

Shows which team members are active and what they're working on.

Quick Actions

Access common workflows directly from the dashboard:

Add Order

Create a new sales order without navigating to the Orders tab.

Add Inventory

Register a new stock item quickly.

Scan QR

Launch the barcode scanner to look up items or register new products.

View Reports

Jump directly to analytics and reporting.

Recent Items

The dashboard displays your most recent activity:

Last 10 Orders

Shows recently created or updated orders with:

  • Order number
  • Customer name
  • Current status
  • Order value

Tap any order to view full details.

Recent Inventory Changes

Displays the most recent stock movements:

  • Item name
  • Transaction type (In, Out, Transfer, Adjustment)
  • Quantity change
  • Timestamp

Completed Dispatches

Shows recently fulfilled shipments:

  • Dispatch destination
  • Items shipped
  • Tracking information
  • Delivery status

Customer Interactions

Recent contact activity and communications.

Dashboard on iPad

On iPad, the dashboard uses the split-view layout:

  • Left Sidebar: Navigate between dashboard sections
  • Right Detail Pane: View detailed information for selected items
  • Floating Buttons: Quick actions appear as floating buttons for easy access

You can view multiple widgets simultaneously and drag to resize sections.

Customizing Your Dashboard

While the dashboard layout is optimized by default, you can control what you see through filters:

Filtering Recent Items

Use the filter options to show:

  • Specific date ranges
  • Particular order statuses
  • Inventory categories
  • Assigned team members (Business/Enterprise)

Sorting Options

Sort recent items by:

  • Date (newest/oldest first)
  • Priority (urgent items first)
  • Value (highest/lowest first)
  • Status

Understanding Dashboard Indicators

Status Colors

Orders and tasks use color coding:

  • Green: Completed or on track
  • Blue: In progress
  • Yellow: Awaiting action
  • Red: Urgent or overdue

Priority Flags

Items marked with a flag icon indicate high priority and should be addressed first.

Badges

Red badge numbers show unread notifications or pending approvals.

Dashboard Workflows

Morning Routine

Start your day by reviewing the dashboard:

  1. Check pending tasks count
  2. Review urgent items
  3. Address flagged orders
  4. Check team member assignments (Business/Enterprise)

Throughout the Day

Use quick actions to:

  • Create orders as they come in
  • Update inventory after receiving stock
  • Scan items for quick lookup
  • Dispatch orders ready to ship

End of Day

Before finishing:

  • Clear completed tasks
  • Review next day's priorities
  • Check team progress (Business/Enterprise)
  • Verify all critical items are addressed

Navigating from Dashboard

The dashboard is designed for quick navigation:

  • Tap any item: Open full details
  • Swipe left: Access quick actions (delete, flag, assign)
  • Pull down: Refresh data
  • Tap sections: Navigate to full view (Orders, Warehouse, etc.)

Dashboard Sync

The dashboard updates in real-time:

  • Online: Changes appear immediately as you or your team make updates
  • Offline: Dashboard shows last synced state; updates when reconnected
  • Auto-refresh: Pulls latest data every time you return to the dashboard
