The Short Version

Sheetforge does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data or spreadsheet content. Your data is yours and stays on your device. We have no servers, no analytics, and no accounts.

1. Overview

Sheetforge is a spreadsheet application for macOS developed by 3nsofts. We built it with a single guiding principle: your data is yours and stays on your device. Sheetforge does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data or spreadsheet content.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Sheetforge does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Spreadsheet content (cell values, formulas, file names)
  • Personal identifiers (name, email, Apple ID)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports sent to 3nsofts servers
  • Device identifiers or hardware fingerprints
  • Location data
  • Contacts, calendar, or photos
  • Clipboard contents (never read in the background)

3. Data That Stays On Your Device

Sheetforge stores the following data exclusively on your Mac:

3.1 Workbook Files

Files you create or open are read from and written to disk at locations you choose. Sheetforge uses macOS Security-Scoped Bookmarks to remember recently opened file locations across sessions. These bookmarks are stored in your Mac's local preferences (~/Library/Preferences) and are never transmitted.

3.2 Application Preferences

Settings you configure (grid display options, autosave interval, default font size, etc.) are stored in macOS UserDefaults on your local device only. They are not synced or transmitted.

3.3 Autosave and Recovery

Autosave writes temporary data to the same file location you chose when saving. No copies are sent anywhere.

4. AI Features (Apple Intelligence)

Sheetforge's AI Assistant uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework (Apple Intelligence). This means:

  • All AI processing happens entirely on your Mac — no data is sent to 3nsofts servers or any third-party AI service.
  • Spreadsheet content passed to the AI (formula suggestions, data analysis) is processed locally by the Apple Intelligence system model and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Sheetforge has no access to Apple Intelligence outputs beyond what is displayed in the app.
  • AI features require macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon, and Apple Intelligence enabled on your device.

5. No Account Required

Sheetforge does not require you to create an account, sign in with Apple, or provide any personal information to use any feature of the app, including AI features.

6. Network Access

Sheetforge does not make outbound network connections. The app:

  • Does not contact any 3nsofts server
  • Does not use analytics SDKs
  • Does not check for updates over the network (updates are delivered through the Mac App Store)
  • Does not load remote content into spreadsheets

The only network-adjacent activity is the Mac App Store's standard licensing verification, which is handled entirely by Apple.

7. File System Access

Sheetforge requests access to files only when you explicitly open or save them using standard macOS Open/Save dialogs. It does not scan your file system, access files outside your selection, or maintain broad file system access.

8. Sandboxing

Sheetforge runs in the macOS App Sandbox. This means the operating system enforces strict limits on what the app can access. The app cannot access your files, network, or other apps outside of the permissions you explicitly grant.

9. Children's Privacy

Sheetforge does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. No account creation, data submission, or personal information is required or possible.

10. Third-Party SDKs and Frameworks

Sheetforge uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection SDKs. It relies solely on Apple's first-party frameworks (SwiftUI, Swift Charts, Foundation, Apple Intelligence).

11. App Store

Sheetforge is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple handles all transactions and download processes. Apple's privacy policy governs data collected during that process. See apple.com/legal/privacy.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the new version will be published on our website and the updated date will be revised at the top of this document. Because Sheetforge collects no data, changes to this policy will typically reflect new Apple platform capabilities or clarifications — not new data-collection practices.
