Privacy Policy
The Short Version
Pictureforge does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or images. All processing — including every AI feature — happens entirely on your device. We have no servers, no analytics, and no accounts.
1. Overview
Pictureforge is a native macOS image editing application developed by 3nsofts. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information.
Pictureforge does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or images. All processing happens entirely on your device.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Pictureforge does not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number, address)
- Images, files, or documents you open, edit, or create with the App
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioural data
- Crash reports or diagnostic logs transmitted off-device
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA or similar)
- Location data
- Camera or microphone data
- Contacts or calendar data
3. Information Processed Locally on Your Device
3.1 Image and Document Files
All images and documents you open, edit, and export with Pictureforge are processed entirely in your Mac's memory and storage. The App accesses only files you explicitly open via the standard macOS Open dialog, drag-and-drop, or file associations. Files are written back to disk only when you save or export.
3.2 AI Features
All AI features — Background Removal, Smart Select, AI Upscale, AI Denoise, Auto Enhance, Saliency Select, and White Balance Correction — are performed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework, Core ML, and Apple Foundation Models. Your images are never transmitted to a server, an API, or any external service to enable these features.
3.3 Preferences and Settings
User preferences (tool defaults, keyboard shortcuts, UI state) are stored in your Mac's standard user defaults (~/Library/Preferences/) and are never transmitted externally.
3.4 In-App Purchase Receipts
If you purchase Pictureforge through the Mac App Store, purchase verification is handled entirely by Apple. We receive only a boolean entitlement from Apple's receipt validation — no payment information, Apple ID, or personal data is passed to us.
4. Third-Party Services and SDKs
Pictureforge contains no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking libraries. The App uses only Apple's first-party frameworks:
- Apple Vision — on-device image analysis (no data leaves the device)
- Apple Core ML — on-device machine learning inference (no data leaves the device)
- Apple Foundation Models — on-device language model features (no data leaves the device)
- Apple ImageIO / Core Image / Metal — image processing (entirely local)
5. iCloud and Network Access
Pictureforge itself makes no outbound network connections. If you choose to save your .forge documents to an iCloud Drive location, macOS will sync those files through iCloud according to Apple's Privacy Policy. This sync is controlled entirely by you and macOS — Pictureforge is not involved in and has no knowledge of iCloud sync operations.
The App is sandboxed and does not request network entitlements. Any apparent network activity associated with the App process is initiated by macOS system services (e.g., Mac App Store update checks), not by Pictureforge itself.
6. App Store Distribution
Pictureforge is distributed through the Apple Mac App Store. Apple collects certain information as part of the App Store experience. This data collection is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this policy. We do not receive or have access to your Apple ID or personal Apple account information.
7. Children's Privacy
Pictureforge does not knowingly collect any personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it is safe for use by users of all ages.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Because Pictureforge does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data held by us to delete. All data associated with your use of the App resides solely on your device or in your iCloud account and can be deleted by you at any time by:
- Removing document files from your Mac or iCloud Drive
- Deleting the App (which removes all sandboxed container data including preferences)
9. Security
Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no data in transit to protect. All image processing is performed in-memory using Apple's sandboxed security model. The App requests only the permissions required for its core function — access to files you open and access to the GPU for Metal rendering.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. Because Pictureforge collects no data, changes will typically reflect new Apple platform capabilities or clarifications — not new data-collection practices.
11. Your Rights
Residents of California (CCPA), the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), Australia (Privacy Act 1988), Canada (PIPEDA), and other jurisdictions with data protection laws can be assured that Pictureforge does not sell, share, or process personal data in any way that would trigger obligations under those frameworks. Because we collect no personal data, all such rights are satisfied by default.
